چکیده
We study the red-optical photometry of ultra-hot Jupiter WASP-121 b as observed by Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) and model its atmosphere through a radiative transfer simulation. Given short orbital period $\sim1.275$ days, inflated state bright host star, is exceptionally favorable for detailed atmospheric characterization. Towards this purpose, we use \texttt{allesfitter} to characterize full phase curve, including planetary modulation secondary eclipse. measure day nightside brightness temperatures in TESS passband $3012\substack{+40 \\ -42}$ K $2022\substack{+254 -602}$ K, respectively, do not find statistically significant shift between brightest substellar points. This consistent with an inefficient heat recirculation on planet. then perform retrieval analysis infer dayside properties such bulk composition, albedo recirculation. confirm temperature inversion suggest H$^-$, TiO VO potential causes inversion, absorbing at optical wavelengths low pressures. Future HST JWST observations will benefit from first curve measured TESS.

Spitzer Irac Sparsely Sampled Phase Curve of the Exoplanet Wasp-14b
Motivated by a high Spitzer IRAC oversubscription rate, we present a new technique of randomly and sparsely sampling the phase curves of hot Jupiters. Snapshot phase curves are enabled by technical advances in precision pointing as well as careful characterization of a portion of the central pixel on the array. This method allows for observations which are a factor of approximately two more eff...

AMSU-B Observations of Mixed-Phase Clouds over Land
Measurements from passive microwave satellite instruments such as the Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit B (AMSU-B) are sensitive to both liquid and ice cloud particles. Radiative transfer modeling is exploited to simulate the response of the AMSU-B instrument to mixed-phase clouds over land. The plane-parallel radiative transfer model employed for the study accounts for scattering and absorption...
متن کاملThe spin-orbit angles of the transiting exoplanets WASP-1b, WASP-24b, WASP-38b and HAT-P-8b from Rossiter-McLaughlin observations
We present observations of the Rossiter-McLaughlin effect for the transiting exoplanet systems WASP-1, WASP-24, WASP-38 and HAT-P-8, and deduce the orientations of the planetary orbits with respect to the host stars’ rotation axes. The planets WASP-24b, WASP-38b and HAT-P-8b appear to move in prograde orbits and be well aligned, having sky-projected spin orbit angles consistent with zero: λ = −...
متن کاملSeismic study and spatial observations of a & b – values for the different earthquake hazard zones of India
This paper study the recent seismicity in Earthquake hazard zones in India. A large historical earthquake event catalog to cover the period of 1900-2018, the parameters date, time, latitude, longitude, depth and magnitude has been used to calculating frequency-magnitude distribution (b-value) of seismic hazard zones in India. To convert different magnitude scales into a single moment magnitude ...
